Truck Driving Academic Support Specialist

The Tennessee College of Applied Technology Northwest is accepting applications for a full-time Truck Driving Academic Support Specialist. 

The Truck Driving Academic Support Specialist will work under the supervision of the Lead Student Services Coordinator. The individual shall be responsible for assisting with duties related to Student Services and the Business Office.

Required Qualifications

High school diploma required. Technical diploma or associate’s degree preferred. Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word. Must possess organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize and complete multiple tasks as required.  Experience using QuickBooks and Banner a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a primary contact for the Truck Driving Program.
  • Assist with recruitment and marketing of the Truck Driving program; including answering phone calls, assisting with walk-ins, disseminating information regarding the Truck Driving Program, and providing tours.
  • Work directly one on one with prospective and current students in the Truck Driving Program to assist them with the necessary tasks that must be done to enroll and or remain in school.
  • Maintain files on prospective students and notify them of enrollment dates.
  • Assist with scheduling students for the CDL examination.
  • Assist CDL examiners with data entry, filing, and maintaining necessary reporting to meet state requirements
  • Distribute mail, faxes, and deliveries.
  • Assist the Business Office with accounting functions such as receipting payments in QuickBooks, balancing accounts, and balancing a cash drawer.
  • Assist with the institution’s inventory process.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Salary Range

Commensurate with education and experience and according to salary guidelines established by the Tennessee Board of Regents.
