Dr. Youlanda Jones
Dr. Youlanda Jones was appointed President of the Tennessee Colleges of Applied Technology Ripley and Covington in 2015 and additionally appointed President of the Tennessee College of Applied Technology Newbern in 2018. President Jones earned a Master of Arts degree in Liberal Studies with a concentration in Strategic Leadership in 2004 and a Bachelor of Business Administration degree with a concentration in Business Management in 1991, both from the University of Memphis. She has also earned her Doctorate of Education in Leadership and Policy Studies.
In her current role, Dr. Jones serves as the chief administrative officer of each institution and has responsibility for all aspects of campus administration including academics, employee relations, student enrollment, community relations, and accreditation. Dr. Jones leads with a strong focus on student access, success, and academic excellence. Prior to her current appointments, President Jones served as the Vice President for Institutional Advancement and Continuing Education as well as the Director of Community Education at Dyersburg State Community College. She also previously served as Director of the University of Tennessee at Martin's Ripley Center and began her career working in the banking industry.
President Jones takes pride in leading institutions which are the premier providers of workforce development and training in their respective service areas. She believes students are empowered to be their best by displaying a high level of ethical behavior and serving as an example of professionalism. Her commitment to student success is highlighted by those who successfully transition from the learning environment into the workforce.
