Vice President of Academic Affairs

The Tennessee College of Applied Technology Northwest invite applications for the position of Vice President of Academic Affairs. The Vice President shall be responsible for executing a range of duties in support of the President. Duties will include participation in the analysis of operational data, participation in institution planning and budgeting activities, supervision of assigned personnel, counseling activities, faculty and curriculum development, facilities maintenance, specialized course management, and marketing the institution. In addition, the Vice President of Academic Affairs shall enforce, oversee, and/or implement policies and procedures on a range of academic affairs such as program and curriculum review, accreditation, faculty evaluation, and other academic affairs operations. This position will also serve as the Equity and Compliance Officer for the institution. Applicant must be a dynamic individual with excellent communication and computer skills. The Vice President reports directly to the President.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution required; Master’s degree preferred.

• Minimum of 5 years’ work experience in post-secondary career and technical education or related business experience with supervisory responsibility required.

• Demonstrated abilities in leadership, human relations, communication skills (written and verbal) and organizational skills.

• Evidence of a strong work ethic as it relates to decision making, timeliness of reporting, oversight of multiple on-going projects, and the ability to work with industry/employers.

• Evidence of successful administrative experience with budgets, accreditation, grant preparation, reporting, and oversight in an educational environment. 

Responsibilities

• Active in academic affairs of the College, such as institutional programs and accreditation; grant writing; TBR program proposals; student safety and discipline; maintenance and security programs; capital maintenance; IPEDS; maintain inventory of equipment and supplies.

• Serves in a supervisory capacity for TCAT Northwest; under the direction of the President.

• Serve as the Affirmative Action/Equity Officer/Title VI and Title Coordinator for TCAT Northwest, coordinating and conducting institutional activities and training on diversity, equity, and affirmative action matters.

• Serve as the institution’s Disability Services Coordinator.

• Serve as the IPEDS Keyholder for TCAT Northwest.

• Serve as institutional liaison for accrediting body (COE) and ensure all standards are in compliance for reaccreditation, as well as preparation and submission of substantive change and programmatic applications.

• Reviews academic programs, providing leadership to faculty and academic staff to ensure consistent quality standards in program curriculum and assuring quality of instruction.

• Assist President with student conduct, attendance, and academic matters when needed.

• Assist the President in planning, organizing, coordinating, and directing the instructional programs, curriculum development and serves as a program advisory board liaison.

• Oversees maintenance, inventory, and security of College(s) facilities and equipment. • Assist President with evaluation of personnel.

• Assist with establishing relationships with industries and supervise special industry and special interest programs.

• Assists in supervision of instructional programs at extension campuses, planning and implementation of additional satellite campuses, including on-site training in area businesses.

• Coordinates institutional activities and training on diversity, equity, and affirmative action matters.

• Performs all other duties assigned by the President.

Salary Range

Commensurate with education and experience and according to salary guidelines established by the Tennessee Board of Regents.
