Stories @ TCAT

Newbern, TN – Tennessee College of Applied Technology (TCAT) Northwest challenged each of its campuses to participate in the Annual Food Drive Challenge, an initiative sponsored by the Tennessee Board of Regents (TBR). TCAT Northwest proudly announces that its Computer-Aided Design (CAD) Technology class has won the campus competition for the 27th Annual Food Drive Challenge.

Each year, TBR issues this challenge to all community colleges and technical institutions across the state, encouraging students and staff to collect food items. The CAD Technology class collected 4,565 items to donate to either the campus food pantry or a local community organization chosen by the institution. These items collected earned the CAD Technology bragging rights for the year.

The CAD Technology class at TCAT Northwest’s Newbern campus has a long-standing tradition of excellence in this competition, consistently outperforming other TCAT Northwest campuses. Their continued success reflects the class’s commitment to community service and helping those in need.

“We are proud of our CAD students for their dedication and generosity,” said Dr. Youlanda Jones, TCAT Northwest President. “Their efforts make a real difference in the lives of individuals and families in our community.”

TCAT Northwest extends its gratitude to all who contributed to this year’s food drive and looks forward to continuing this tradition of giving.
