Part-Time Student Support Specialist

The Tennessee College of Applied Technology Northwest Covington Campus is accepting applications for a part-time Student Support Specialist. This position supports the daily operations of Student Services by assisting with enrollment, orientation, recruitment, tours and records management. The schedule for this position is Monday – Thursday, 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Friday 8 a.m. to Noon.

Required Qualifications

  • Requires a high school diploma, technical diploma preferred.
  • Three years of experience working in a post-secondary institution preferred.
  • Evidence of excellent communication and computer skills.
  • Ability to multi-task.
  • Possess organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Exceptional customer service skills.

Responsibilities

  • Provide admissions support by assisting students with the online application process via student kiosks and guiding them through the steps to enroll.
  • Respond to student questions regarding programs, enrollment requirements, and deadlines, and refer them to appropriate staff or departments as needed.
  • Assist with new student orientation and ensure compliance with institutional and federal guidelines.
  • Assist with orientation preparation and proper placement by uploading orientation materials, verifying document accuracy, organizing medical student records, and entering information into BDMS.
  • Maintain and update parking decal logs and issue student ID badges.
  • Schedule appointments for admissions testing (HESI) and orientation sessions; process associated payments.
  • Assist with administration of HESI exam for Allied Health programs.
  • Contact prospective students via phone & email to provide admissions information and follow up on inquiries.
  • Support recruitment activities by participating in high school visits, college and career fairs, open house events, and other outreach initiatives.
  • Maintain working knowledge of student services policies and regulatory standards including FERPA, ADA, Title VI, Title IX, and Council on Occupational Education (COE) accreditation requirements.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Campus Coordinator, Lead Student Services Coordinator, Vice Presidents, and President.

Salary Range

Commensurate with education and experience and according to salary guidelines established by the Tennessee Board of Regents.
