Retail, Hospitality and Tourism Associate Instructor

The Tennessee College of Applied Technology Northwest is accepting applications for a full time Retail, Hospitality, and Tourism Associate Instructor for the day program at the Newbern Campus.

Required Qualifications

  • Technical degree/diploma with a minimum of three years of recent successful and progressive work experience in retail/hospitality/tourism, customer service, or public relations management required. Associate or bachelor's degree in related fields preferred.
  • Possess communication skills necessary to be an effective instructor.
  • Show evidence of good character, organizational skills, and a mature attitude.
  • Ability to maintain an effective working relationship with students, the public, industry
  • partners, and other employees.
  • Skilled in managing deadlines and working in a team-oriented environment.
  • Expertise in the use of the Microsoft Office Suite
  • Commitment to utilizing technology in teaching/learning experience and willingness to stay up to date in developing instruction technologies and training.

Responsibilities

  • Provide group and individualized instruction to students in Retail, Hospitality, and Tourism programs.
  • Monitor, grade, and evaluate individual students' progress, maintain student records in the college's student records management software, maintain appropriate documentation, and submit timely reports.
  • Maintain good public relations with related industries and maintain an active program advisory committee.
  • Collaborate with outside agencies to establish work-based education experiences for students
  • Maintain and adhere to all COE Accreditation requirements.
  • Other duties include curriculum development, program accreditation, daily lesson planning, student recruitment and placement, follow-up of program graduates, participation in professional development activities, and student organizations.

Salary Range

Commensurate with education and experience and according to salary guidelines established by the Tennessee Board of Regents.
