Welding Technology Associate Instructor – Newbern Day

The Tennessee College of Applied Technology Northwest is accepting applications for a full-time Welding Technology Associate Instructor for the day program at our Newbern Campus. Hours are Monday through Friday from 7:00 A.M. to 3:00 P.M.

Required Qualifications

· Minimum of Technical Diploma in instructional area or equivalent higher education training with credentials in related field. Associate degree preferred.

· Minimum three (3) years of experience in the welding field within the last five (5) years.

· Must possess all required certifications for the field or the ability to become certified within three (3) calendar months. Required certifications include OSHA-10. AWS, CWE, CWI, and ASNT Visual Inspector Level II certifications a plus.

· Must possess computer skills.

· Strong hands-on technical background in the field of instruction.

· Must possess the communication skills necessary to be an effective teacher and interact with high school and adult students.

· Must possess a high degree of knowledge in the following areas: Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW), Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW), Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW) and Flux Core Arc Welding (FCAW); symbols and blueprint reading; cutting techniques; grinding; metal preparation; metallurgy; layout; fabrication; power tools; and measurement techniques

Responsibilities

· Provide instruction to students in all areas of the Welding Technology Program curriculum.

· Monitor, grade, and evaluate individual students' progress.

· Maintain appropriate records and submit timely reports.

· Ensure efficient and safe delivery of instruction to students.

· Perform related tasks and other duties as assigned.
