Tennessee College of Applied Technology (TCAT) Northwest is excited to announce the expansion of its highly regarded Welding Technology Program to the Ripley campus, located at 127 Industrial Drive, Ripley, TN. Enrollment is now open, and applications are currently being accepted.
This expansion brings a new career-focused opportunity to the Ripley community and surrounding areas, allowing students to train locally for a high-demand, high-skill profession. The Welding Technology Program is a 12-month course designed to prepare students for employment as combination welders through a balance of classroom instruction and hands-on training in an industrial shop setting.
Students enrolled in the program will gain in-depth experience with essential welding processes, including Flux Cored Arc Welding (FCAW), Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW), Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW), and Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW). The program emphasizes technical knowledge, safety, and practical skills aligned with current industry standards.
“Welding is a dynamic and essential industry with a strong future,” said TCAT Northwest President Youlanda Jones. “From infrastructure to manufacturing, welding plays a critical role in modern design and construction. As the demand for skilled welders continues to rise and technology advances, this program provides students with the opportunity to build a career that helps shape the future.”
TCAT Northwest invites individuals interested in joining the TCAT Northwest community to take advantage of this new opportunity and start building a rewarding, hands-on career close to home.
